World’s 800 meters champion David Rudisha, is set to make history in the upcoming Rio olympic.
Rudisha, a native of Kenya is the current holder of the world’s 800 meters title.The olympic champion would be integrated in the circle of athletes who have managed to keep the olympic title for a second time.
Rudisha may equal the records of legends such as, British Douglas Lowe 1924 and 1928, American Whitfield 1948 and 1952 and New Zealander Peter Snell, 1960 and 1964.
These athletes have managed to keep their Olympic title two times in succession.
The olympic champion is currently recovering from a wound which he sustained last two seasons.
At 27, he said he believes firmly in his talent and in his potential.
“There is no shortcuts to success, Sometimes it is a little bit difficult in training because sometimes I feel pains. But it is just a question of balance, to make things right, listen to the body and to train correctly.”
Rudisha trained at the Saint Patrick’s Day High School where he built for himself a champion’s stature under the advise of trainer O’Connell.
